Kort W. Gatterdam

Professional Biography: Kort Gatterdam heads the Firm's expanding white collar/criminal defense practice as one of Ohio's preeminent criminal defense lawyers. Kort has extensive trial and appellate experience in criminal proceedings throughout Ohio and elsewhere, having represented public officials, companies, and private individuals in a variety of criminal matters. He is certified by the Ohio Supreme Court as lead counsel in death penalty cases, and has tried numerous high-profile death penalty cases to verdict at the state and federal level.
Kort is on the Facility Governing Board for the Franklin County Community Based Correctional Facility which treats men and women with alcohol and substance abuse issues. In 2009, Kort was appointed by the Governor to the Ohio Criminal Sentencing Commission responsible for studying and recommending changes in Ohio's criminal code to the legislature.
In his spare time, Kort enjoys playing ice hockey, golf, and softball. Kort and his wife are the proud parents of two sons.
