Professional Biography: Since joining the Firm in 1998, Angie Paul Whitfield has devoted most of her practice to commercial litigation and class action defense. In doing so, Angie has handled cases through arbitrations, jury trials to verdict, judgments, and/or settlements ranging from marketing/advertising matters, franchise/franchisee disputes, bankruptcy related issues, healthcare management matters, construction disputes, sexual harassment claims, race/age/political discrimination disputes, and real estate matters. In addition, Angie has represented many financial and lending institutions in disputes relating to consumer fraud, secured transactions, collateral impairment, employment issues, copyright/trademark infringements, Truth-In-Lending Act matters, and credit reporting issues. Angie has represented clients in commercial and other matters pending in federal and state courts and arbitration panels throughout California, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Angie also has handled a variety of appellate matters, including before the Ohio, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania Supreme Courts.
Angie recently was named one of Ohio’s “Rising Stars” in litigation, placing her among the top 2.5% of young lawyers in Ohio by the Ohio Super Lawyers publication.
Angie recently was appointed to chair the Columbus Bar Association Common Pleas Court Committee, and also is active in the Franklin Inn of Court, Franklin County Women Lawyer’s Association, Columbus Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners, and Executive Women’s Golf Association. Angie also is involved in the Columbus Young Professional’s Club and various charitable organizations. In her spare time, Angie plays golf and softball, shows her quarter horses, and scuba dives.
