Segev Phillips
Associate
Professional Biography: Segev Phillips is a seasoned attorney with a diverse range of experiences. Prior to joining our Firm, Segev worked as a federal prosecutor in the Appellate and Criminal Divisions of the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Ohio. Segev has briefed approximately fifteen cases to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has also participated in five oral arguments at that court and has been successful in each instance. Segev's trial court caseload included fraud, money laundering, identity theft, and narcotics cases.
Prior to joining the United States Attorney's Office, Segev was an associate at an international law firm, where he represented numerous clients in various complex transactions, bankruptcy proceedings, and commercial litigation. From September 2007 to September 2008, Segev clerked for The Honorable Jackson L. Kiser of the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia.
Segev attended Duke University School of Law as a Melvin Shimm Endowed Scholar and graduated with honors. While attending law school, Segev was the Notes & Research Editor of Law and Contemporary Problems, the oldest legal journal published at Duke University. Segev also was an editor for the Duke Journal of Constitutional Law & Public Policy and a member of the mock trial team. Segev also has a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Northwestern University.
Segev spends most of his spare time enjoying a variety of activities with his wife, son, and dog. Segev is an avid athlete, having completed an ultramarathon, more than ten marathons, and numerous triathlons.
